The Fresh Market to Anchor Lifestyle Center in Savannah, Ga.
GREENSBORO, N.C. -- The Fresh Market, a rapidly expanding specialty food retailer based here, is the anchor of a new 70,000-square-foot lifestyle center set to open next week in Savannah, Ga., said Edens & Avant, the site's developer.
In addition to The Fresh Market, other retailers at the center, called Abercorn
Walk, include Chico's, Jos. A. Bank Clothiers, Kirkland's, and White House/Black Market. Ann Taylor LOFT and Talbots, Talbots Woman, and Talbots Petites are scheduled to open this fall, while additional stores will be opening over the next six to nine months.
Abercorn Walk is situated in the middle of Savannah's primary retail corridor. The Savannah MSA, which includes Chatham, Bryan and Effingham counties, boasts a population of more than 320,000 residents, while the trade area is estimated to be in excess of 165,000 residents and growing, according to Edens & Avant.
This marks the fourth store that The Fresh Market has opened this month. Other stores have opened in Ft. Wayne, Ind., Mandeville, La., and Kildeer, Ill.
The Fresh Market, which designs its stores to create a European-market feel, now operates about 50 stores and has said it aims to open at least 10 new stores per year.
