Founder of Marketing Management, Inc. Dies

FORT WORTH, Texas - Herbert L. Pease, Sr., a pioneer in the store brands industry and founder/c.e.o. of Marketing Management, Inc., passed away in a hospital here on Oct. 31. He was 85.

Pease led Marketing Management, Inc., an integrated sales and marketing company based in Fort Worth, as chairman, c.e.o., and president from July 1966 to July 1986. In 1986 he passed the company's day-to-day responsibilities to his son, Herbert L. Pease Jr., who currently serves as president and c.o.o. Pease Sr. remained active in the company as chairman and c.e.o. and was committed to transforming visions into realities for both clients and his devoted employees.

Pease was born and raised in Wahpeton, N.D. He served his country in WWII as service naval aviator at Wake Island, acquired a bachelor of science degree in business administration from North Dakota State University, and then compiled 20 years of business experience.

He was responsible for developing the Marketing Management service purchase program, as well as establishing the Quality Assurance Association.

Pease leaves his wife of 61 years, Mary; his son and wife B. J. Wilson Pease; daughter Kimberly R. Pease; granddaughter Courtney Pease Madewell and husband Jason Madewell; grandson Christopher Pease; great-grandson Jackson Madewell; brother David Pease; and sister Nancy Quast.
