Foodtown Board Elects New Chairman/CEO
The board of directors of Foodtown Inc. has elected David Maniaci to be its chairman and CEO. Maniaci succeeds Gerard Norkus, who is planning to retire.
The Maniaci family has been a member of the Foodtown cooperative, which currently comprises 66 independently owned grocery stores in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania, for more than 50 years. David Maniaci joined the co-op in 1985 and has been a board member for the past 20 years. He owns and operates two Foodtown locations, one in North Haledon, N.J., and the other in Cedar Grove, N.J. Esmail Mobarak replace David Maniaci in his previous role as treasurer of the board.
According to Bill Donahoe, president and COO of Iselin, N.J.-based Foodtown, Maniaci and Mobarak “are well respected and very committed to the well being and growth of our organization.”
