Food Products Association Names V.P. of Food Safety Programs

WASHINGTON -- The Food Products Association, a science-based food trade group here, said yesterday it has named Jenny Scott v.p. of food safety programs. In her new position, Scott will direct the association's food safety activities on issues including food inspections, HACCP, and crisis management.

Since she joined FPA's staff in 1980, Scott has been actively involved in the association's food safety activities on issues including microbiology, food inspections, HACCP, and crisis management.

Scott previously served as FPA's senior director of food safety programs.

Scott is a member of the National Advisory Committee on Microbiological Criteria for Food, where she was recently re-appointed to a second term. She has published numerous research papers and book chapters in the areas of microbial food safety and food processing. She also is active in professional associations, such as the American Society for Microbiology, the Institute of Food Technologists, and the International Association for Food Protection, where she was president in 2000-2001.
