Food Lion to Promote Latest Redesigns in North Carolina's Triad Region

SALISBURY, N.C. -- Food Lion, a unit of Delhaize America here, is completing redesigns of 60 stores in the Triad region of North Carolina this week, and will celebrate with an official market relaunch later this month.

To promote the newly remodeled stores, which include new dEcor packages and stepped-up fresh foods departments, Food Lion will kick off a new campaign in the area with the tagline "Take a Fresh Look at Food Lion." The campaign will include the message "New Food Lion, Same Great Prices." Ribbon-cutting ceremonies will be held at all the stores on June 22, Food Lion spokesman Jeff Lowrance told Progressive Grocer.

The remodels, which began last December, follow similar market relaunches Food Lion has conducted in the Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill "Triangle" region, and then the Charlotte, N.C. market.

Food Lion's next series of market remodels are already under way in more than 60 stores in Baltimore and the eastern shore of Maryland and Delaware, according to Lowrance. They are expected to be completed by late fall.
