Food Lion Freshens Up 31 South Carolina Stores

As part of Food Lion, LLC’s continuing “Take A Fresh Look” renewal initiative, the grocer has remodeled 31 stores in the Columbia, S.C., and Florence, S.C., markets, enlarging the offering and improving the overall store shopping experience over a number of months.

“This is an exciting time for Food Lion and our customers, as we celebrate a fresh, new look, a greater selection of products and a renewed focus on service,” noted Bobby Tatum, director of operations for Salisbury, N.C.-based chain. “We wanted to enhance our customers’ shopping experience through a more inviting interior design and have expanded our fresh departments, including produce, meats and deli/bakery, as well as our organic selection.”

New signage, an updated decor and better lighting are meant to evoke the feel of a neighborhood marketplace. The renovations also provided more space for a bigger selection of products, among them more natural and organic food selections and a larger beer and wine assortment.

Each store marked the completion of renovations this week with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and other grand re-opening features such as product sampling, cookouts, children’s activities and giveaways.

Additionally, the stores are offering specials on fresh produce, Butcher’s Brand Premium Beef®, other fresh meats, natural products, wines and additional items. For more information, shoppers can visit www.FoodLion.com and click on weekly specials.
