Food Industry Veteran Charged to Grow Grocery Business for Payment Processor

ATLANTA -- A former supermarket executive will be calling on his former comrades in his new role at RBS Lynk, a payment processor based here.

Michael Frank, who formerly held senior management positions at grocery retailers including Ralphs Grocery Co., Rainbow Foods, and Cub Foods, has been promoted to v.p. of RBS Lynk's national sales grocery division.

In this newly created role Frank will be responsible for developing RBS Lynk's national sales strategy focused on grocery and related markets, including chain drug and wholesale club chains. Frank assumes the role of v.p. after managing a national sales territory for RBS Lynk. His appointment follows the company's integration into The Royal Bank of Scotland's family of businesses and emergence as a leading provider of electronic payment-processing services to national retail accounts.

"Having managed large grocery and merchandising operations, Mike has a unique customer perspective of these environments," said Ken Paull, RBS Lynk's s.v.p. of national sales, in a statement. "His addition to our national sales team rounds out our strategic placement of industry leaders to direct our three verticals of primary focus: grocery, petroleum/c-store and retail/restaurant."

Prior to joining RBS Lynk, Frank spent the majority of his career in retail management. Most recently he worked as president and c.o.o. of Coupon Media Network, a sales and marketing company, where he secured national contracts with Kroger, Ralphs, and Fred Meyer, as well as some of the country's top consumer packaged goods and media companies.
