Food Industry Invited to Sample French Fare
NEW YORK -- The French Embassy Trade Office here said it is inviting U.S. supermarket and specialty food store buyers, importers, distributors, and restaurateurs to see first hand what selected French food companies have to offer during a multicity tour. The categories on parade in the tour include cheese, chocolate, pastry, grocery, frozen, dried fruit, and mineral water.
From March 31 through April 4, the French food suppliers will visit New York, Dallas, and San Francisco, said the French Trade Office.
The tour will include tastings, and group and one-on-one meetings as a way to introduce the French companies to major players in the U.S. food business. Additionally, the Trade Office has planned a number of store visits in each city, at such retailers as Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, and Safeway; as well as conferences hosted by professionals in different fields who will explain their role in the import chain.
