Food Circus Appoints New President

Food Circus Super Markets, Inc., t/a Super Foodtown, has named Louis J. Scaduto Jr. president, replacing the late Joe Azzolina Sr. In addition to being president of the company, Azzolina was a retired naval captain and a New Jersey state senator and legislator for 24 years.

Scaduto was previously the company’s EVP and COO, overseeing all aspects of the retail operation. He began his Food Circus career at age of 14, learning the family business from the bottom up by working in every department in Foodtown stores. Over the years, Scaduto became more involved with financial oversight and planning for the business.

Owned and operated by the Azzolinas, the Scadutos and the board of directors, and now in its fourth generation of family ownership, Middletown Township, N.J.-based Food Circus Super Markets, Inc. operates 10 Super Foodtown stores in Middlesex, Monmouth and Ocean counties and employs over 1,400 employees.
