Florida Indie Buys Seven Albertsons Stores
BOISE, Idaho -- Albertsons, Inc. here has sold its seven supermarkets in northeast Florida to a new company headed by a Jacksonville man who formerly worked for Albertsons and Winn-Dixie, according to published reports.
The sale includes stores in Jacksonville, St. Augustine, and Orange Park, plus prescriptions at the seven pharmacies. The transaction is expected to be complete by July.
The stores' new owner is Rob Rowe, a Jacksonville resident and former executive who has worked for both Albertsons and Winn-Dixie. His company is called Rowe's Enterprises.
