Fleming Requests Delay for Annual Report

WASHINGTON - Fleming Cos. Inc. filed a second request to delay releasing its annual financial statement with the Securities and Exchange Commission, reports Reuters.

The company the second delay was due to its Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing announced April 1 and a continuing internal investigation into accounting and disclosure issues.

Fleming filed for a 15-day extension when it could not meet a March 31 deadline to file its Form 10-K with the SEC.

"The company is presently unable to determine the date by which it will file its 2002 Form 10-K," according to a statement by Fleming in the U.S. regulatory filing.
