Farm Fresh Expanding Walk-In Bill Payment Services

Supervalu-owned Farm Fresh is providing expanded walk-in bill payment services at all 46 of its locations, thanks to a partnership with CheckFreePay.

Under the deal, NextDay, emergency, MasterCard, and Visa payments are available at Farm Fresh locations, in addition to the standard payment options previously available.

"Farm Fresh customers appreciate being able to combine several errands into one by paying their bills during their regular trip to our stores," said Ron Dennis, president and c.o.o. of Virginia Beach, Va.-based Farm Fresh. "The addition of an expanded selection of CheckFreePay walk-in bill payment services helps us fulfill our commitment of providing the utmost convenience to our customers. NextDay and emergency payments, which are processed almost instantly, provide our customers options even if they have to pay a bill at the last minute."

Using CheckFreePay, customers can pay hundreds of bills at Farm Fresh stores, and receive a receipt as proof of payment.

Farm Fresh serves as an authorized payment location for companies such as Dominion Power, Cox Communications, and Virginia Natural Gas. Authorized billers post customer payments the same day, and honor customer receipt numbers as proof of payment for deposits and past due payments, and to avoid service shut-offs.

Standard CheckFreePay walk-in payments at a Farm Fresh location typically cost $1 per transaction, and process within three business days in most cases, one day if for an authorized biller, the companies said.

NextDay payments and emergency payments are now available at all Farm Fresh locations for an additional fee. Customers are also now able to pay MasterCard or Visa bills at any Farm Fresh. A full list of bills that can be paid, along with pricing details, is available at Farm Fresh locations.

Farm Fresh, which currently operates grocery stores in Hampton Roads and Richmond, Va., and Elizabeth City, N.C., will utilize CheckFreePay as an exclusive walk-in payment provider, the companies said. Brookfield, Wis.-based CheckFreeDay is part of Fiserv, Inc.
