Farm Fresh to Buy Two Former Winn-Dixies
VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - Farm Fresh Supermarkets, a Supervalu-owned regional chain
based here, has signed a tentative contract to purchase two Winn-Dixie stores in
Williamsburg and Yorktown, according to published reports.
The company entered a 60-day due-diligence period Friday, and terms of the agreement
have not been disclosed, said Ron Dennis, president and c.o.o. of Farm Fresh.
The stores are about 52,000 square feet each.
Farm Fresh operates 38 stores in the region, with two more scheduled to open in January,
including the company's first North Carolina store, in Elizabeth City.
Dennis said there were two other Farm Fresh stores in Williamsburg and several in the
Yorktown area.
