Fancy Food Show and All Things Organic to Co-Locate in Chicago in '08

NEW YORK -- After several years of partnering with the Food Marketing Institute Show in Chicago, the National Association for the Specialty Food Trade, Inc. (NASFT) and the Organic Trade Association (OTA) will go their own way in April 2008 with a co-location in Chicago. The groups also said this week they are seeking out complementary partners to join the 2008 event.

The Spring Fancy Food Show and All Things Organic will co-locate from April 27 to April 29, 2008, at McCormick Place, with the intention of creating "the largest display of specialty foods and organic products in the United States."

"We believe in Chicago as the place to bring key buyers together and excite them with the global and local specialty, natural, and organic food products that are fueling the growth of the industry, both at retail and for foodservice," said NASFT president Ann Daw in a statement.

Caren Wilcox, executive director of the OTA, noted, "Teaming up with NASFT has allowed us to take a fresh look at our event in Chicago. We're excited about the focus this will bring to these two continually growing segments of the food industry. Exhibitors and attendees will have an excellent opportunity for building business in 2008."

NASFT and OTA attract buyers from organic, natural, specialty, foodservice, and gift businesses, while continuing to draw supermarkets and mass merchants.

In 2007 the Spring Fancy Food Show and All Things Organic will be co-located with the FMI Show in Chicago from May 6 to May 8.
