Family Dollar Names S.V.P. - Planning, Allocation and Replenishment

MATTHEWS, N.C. -- National discount chain Family Dollar Stores, Inc. said yesterday it promoted Bryan P. Causey to the position of s.v.p. - planning, allocation, and replenishment. He will continue to play a key role in the retailer's "Project Accelerate" multi-year initiative, which is designed to optimize its merchandising and supply chain operations.

Most recently, Causey served as v.p. - planning and merchandise control. In this new role, he will have responsibility for the company's merchandise planning, allocations, and replenishment functions. He will report to Charles S. Gibson Jr., e.v.p. - supply chain.

Causey began his career with Family Dollar as v.p. - finance and accounting in 2000, and was named v.p. - planning and merchandise control in 2004. Prior to joining the company, he was employed by PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Family Dollar operates more than 6,300 stores in a 44-state area.
