Exclusive Valentine's Day Items Debut at The Food Emporium BridgeMarket

MONTVALE, N.J. -- Chocolatier Fritz Knipschildt has created a unique chocolate Valentine's Day heart for exclusive sale at The Food Emporium BridgeMarket, the Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Co.'s flagship gourmet-format store, at 1st Ave. and 59th Street in Manhattan. The store opened in November.

Norwalk, Conn.-based Knipschildt will be at the store on Saturday, Feb. 10 from 12 noon through 2 p.m., to introduce the 12-inch, 1.8-pound confection made from European chocolate and available in milk, dark and white chocolate varieties. While at the store, he will also create personalized Valentine messages for shoppers purchasing the hearts as gifts.

The Valentine's Day hearts will retail at the BridgeMarket for $28. Other Knipschildt Chocolatier items also available at the store include the Knipschildt Heart Collection, which contains 19 chocolates in a heart-shaped box, and Knipschildt Rose Truffles, 16 pieces of dark chocolate blended with delicate roses. These products, like all Knipschildt chocolates, are hand molded and rolled, then packaged in handmade paper boxes from India.

In related Valentine's Day news, Food Emporium BridgeMarket said that the "Out Going Chef" department will feature an assortment of Valentine's Day take outmeals specially prepared with ingredients known for their aphrodisiac qualities. These items, which will be available from Feb. 10 to Feb. 16, include Brie en Croute with Caramel and Walnuts, Stuffed Jumbo Prawns, Pan Seared Scallops, and Dipped Poached Pears.
