Equal Celebrates ‘30 Years of Love’

The Equal brand is celebrating its 30th anniversary with a “30 Years of Love” diamond giveaway sweepstakes.

Running from April 1 through Sept. 30, specially marked boxes of 115-, 230- and 250-count boxes of Equal 0-calorie sweetener will feature enter-to-win codes offering consumers a chance to win one of 30 grand-prize half carat GIA Graded diamonds, a $2,000 value. An additional 300 first-prize winners will take home a $100 Visa Prepaid Virtual Account.

“Our fans have made these the sweetest years ever,” said Julie Higgins, senior manager of brand marketing for Equal. “To return the love, we wanted to do something extra special for them. What says ‘love’ better than diamonds?”

The brand’s history began in 1979 when Chicago-based Merisant, the manufacturer of Equal, launched in Europe. In the ‘80’s, the company launched Equal in the U.S., and the brand expanded in 2010 with its own line of sucralose (yellow) and saccharin (pink) packets.
