Electrolux Professional Refines Focus on Foodservice, Laundry
Electrolux Professional Inc., a North American leader in providing customized solutions for the foodservice and laundry systems markets, has taken another significant step in its program to restructure and refine its business model with the divesture of its Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.-based Baring Industries division, a contractor for foodservice and laundry installations, to Duray/J.F. Duncan Industries Inc. of Downey, Calif.
“As we moved this year to build our core foodservice and laundry systems businesses under a single Electrolux Professional management team in the new Electrolux North America headquarters in Charlotte, it became clear that Baring’s business would also benefit from a greater focus on its own markets,” said Alberto Zanata, CEO of Charlotte, N.C.-based Electrolux Professional. “Baring’s business is a very good one, but it is not a core business for Electrolux Professional, which is a manufacturing and distribution organization. The sale is a win/win situation for all parties -- Electrolux Professional, Baring and Duray – and for our customers.
“We will now be able to focus all of Electrolux Professional’s resources, capabilities and management attention on aggressively growing our business by serving our markets’ needs,” continued Zanata, noting that the sale also removes any perceived conflicts of interest that may have gotten in the way Baring’s or Electrolux Professional’s growth.
