Helping retailers capitalize on the explosive growth of dried cranberries, which have experienced an 82 percent uptick since 2002, Decas Cranberry Products has brought out a new style of dried cranberries under the Paradise Meadow product line or as private brands. LeanCrans Reduced Sugar Cranberries Plus Healthy Fiber provide five times the fiber of traditional dried cranberries while containing just half the sugar, according to Carver, Mass.-based Decas, adding that the product is naturally fat free and has no cholesterol, no artificial colors, or preservatives. One third-cup serving equals one full serving of fruit. Available Sept. 15, they retail for a suggested $2.99 and $6.99 per 9-ounce and 24-ounce resealable pouch, respectively.
