Dunkin' Donuts Opens 100th Store within Stop & Shop Supermarket
RANDOLPH, Mass.- Dunkin' Donuts Inc. and Stop & Shop Supermarket Co. of Quincy announced that Dunkin' Donuts will open its 100th full-service shop within a Stop & Shop on Thursday.
In February 2002, the Stop & Shop Supermarket Company and Dunkin' Donuts announced a strategic alliance in which Dunkin' Donuts would open full-service stores in Stop & Shop locations throughout Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island. This alliance enables Stop & Shop customers to buy Dunkin' Donuts coffee and baked goods while shopping at New England's leading supermarket chain.

The Dunkin' Donuts concept was initially tested in three Stop & Shop locations in Quincy, Mansfield and Dedham, Mass., beginning in March 2001. The success of the test program led to a formal agreement.
Dunkin' Donuts estimates that by the end of 2003 it will have an additional 50 points of distribution, in non-traditional outlets such as Stop & Shop Supermarkets, in both the Northeast and the mid-Atlantic region. Dunkin' Donuts also plans to develop this market model across different regions of the United States, including Upstate New York, Chicago and the Mid-Atlantic States.
