Dudlicek Joins PG as New Senior Editor

Seasoned industry trade journalist Jim Dudlicek has joined the editorial team of Progressive Grocer as its new Senior Editor. Dudlicek brings a wealth of experience and talent to the supermarket industry’s leading publication, including those acquired during his most career path covering the dairy industry for the past seven-and-a-half years.

“In light of his strong background, knowledge of the industry, and exceptional journalism talents, we are very fortunate to have Jim on board as we expand our avenues for growth and editorial excellence,” said Meg Major, PG’s Editor-in-Chief.

Dudlicek began his trade journalism career as managing editor of Dairy Field in December 2002 and became editor in April 2004. After Dairy Field merged with Dairy Foods in January 2008, Dudlicek became editor of the Dairy Field Reports operations-focused section of the combined magazine until he was named chief editor of Dairy Foods in January 2009. During his time covering dairy, Dudlicek traveled extensively to visit the country’s leading dairy processors, interviewing management and plant personnel for major feature stories.

Before becoming a trade journalist, Dudlicek worked for eight years at several Chicago-area non-daily newspapers as a reporter and editor. He graduated from Marquette University in 1994 with a bachelor of arts in journalism.
