Farmland Dairies has extended its Special Request Skim Plus line of fortified milk products with Skim Plus Fiber, which the Wallington, N.J.-based company says the first fiber fortified fat-free milk product in the country, and Skim Plus Omega-3 with CoQ10 (Coenzyme Q10). Made from 100 percent real cow’s milk, both new items contain 37 percent more protein and 34 percent more calcium than whole milk, and are an excellent source of phosphorus and vitamins B2 and D, but no added artificial hormones or antibiotics. While Skim Plus Fiber is fortified with prebiotic fiber, which supports probiotics to ensure good digestive health and offers contains 2.5 grams of fiber per serving, Skim Plus Omega-3 with CoQ10 offers essential omega-3 fatty acids, which can reduce symptoms of hypertension, depression, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, joint pain, rheumatoid problems and various skin ailments, among other maladies, and CoQ10, which may boost the immune system and help protect against conditions such as Alzheimer's disease.
