Dole Nutrition Institute to Deploy New In-Store Media Network

WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif.-- Dole Foods here has awarded the contract for a new in-store media network to IMPART Media Group, Inc.

The Dole Nutrition Institute (DNI) will use iPoint, IMPART's advertising and information system, in grocery stores to connect consumers with its integrated healthcare, wellness and grocer initiatives. DNI, which was founded to promote health and prevent disease by "Feeding the World with Knowledge," will initially place the iPoint system in four grocery store chains across the country to help shoppers' access useful information about family nutrition; details of Dole Food nutritional benefits; recipes and other healthful tips.

The iPoint system is an interactive, wireless kiosk that houses video on the upper half and an interactive touch screen on the lower portion. Shoppers will be able to use the system to find nutritional information from Dole as well as in-store discounts from store partners, tips for locating merchandise, and a dynamic mapping system to help shoppers plan meals and purchase grocery items.

Laird Laabs, president of the Seattle-based IMPART Media Group said: "We believe that providing grocery shoppers with fun and engaging interactive technology can help to shape consumer buying decisions and leverage the goodwill of the DNI initiative. We are proud to partner with DNI, and look forward to leveraging our relationship with Dole in the coming months and years."
