Doctors' Orders Have Harris Teeter, Wegmans Stocking Fortified Water

FAIRFIELD, N.J. -- Sanfaustino Calcium Water here said yesterday that Harris Teeter and Wegmans decided to pick up its products for in-store distribution after local doctors contacted store management requesting that they stock Sanfaustino in stores.

"In this business, consumers play a major role in the products that are brought into the store. But in my 30-plus years in the industry I have never known doctors to contact retailers asking them to carry a specific non-pharmaceutical product," said Al Gever, c.e.o. of Sanfaustino, in a statement.

Sanfaustino Calcium Water is an all-natural calcium water. Each eight-ounce glass contains over 10 percent of the RDA for calcium, according to the company, which claims that the calcium in Sanfaustino is as bioavailable, or readily absorbed, as the calcium in milk, dose for dose.

The supplier said that Harris Teeter carries Sanfaustino in all 138 of its stores, and that Wegmans is bringing the product into its 67 stores on doctor recommendation.
