Digital Lumens’s Gives Facilities Greater Lighting Control

Digital Lumens, a developer of lighting management solutions, launched its new LightRules software, which features expanded control and reporting capabilities developed to empower facility staff to manage lighting delivery to directly impact the bottom line.

As part of the Digital Lumens Intelligent Lighting System -- which integrates LEDs, sensors and controls into a single, networked solution -- LightRules enables managers and staff to specify precisely how each intelligent light fixture behaves – by time or day of week, and fixture-by-fixture, aisle-, room-, or facility-wide.

This latest version of LightRules provides facility managers with a simple yet informative dashboard for quick system status updates, detailed scheduling tools, the ability to configure different facility lighting profiles, and a full suite of reporting templates which can be used for internal monitoring or utility measurement and verification (M&V) purposes. In addition, it includes role-based security controls, which ensure that each user can only access the LightRules features for which they are authorized.

“Tightly integrated with our Intelligent Light Engines, LightRules enables facility managers to maximize energy savings which, for many of our customers, reach 90 percent,” said Brian Chemel, CTO of Digital Lumens. “With the ability to determine when, how and where lighting is used, LightRules gives managers essential operational data, allowing them to easily implement lighting control programs to further optimize efficiency and to adjust to their facility’s changing needs.”

Boston, Mass.-based Digital Lumens develops LED-based Intelligent Lighting Systems designed to reduce industrial customers’ lighting-related electricity expenses and transform lighting into a managed asset, improving efficiency, control and operational insight.
