Dietz & Watson Challenges Boars Head

Premium deli meats and cheese purveyor Dietz & Watson threw down the gauntlet to rival Boar’s Head in early December in the form of four Deli Challenges at four Manhattan grocery stores.

The challenges, which took place at two Gristedes and two D’Agostino Supermarkets locations, invited New Yorkers to take part in a free blind taste test that pits the two well-known brands against each other to determine which one comes out on top.

The friendly face-off isn’t just about who has the best deli products, though: For each participant, Dietz & Watson donated 1 pound of food to the Food Bank For New York City. The Philadelphia-based deli leader will also sold its New York Brand Beef Franks for $1, with all sales going to support the food bank.

The day after the challenges, Dietz & Watson delivered donated proceeds, along with hams, turkeys, roast beef and cheese to the Bronx-based anti-hunger organization.
