Dierbergs Raises Gluten-free Awareness

St. Louis-based Dierbergs Markets, in partnership with the Bi-State Celiac Support Group, is hosting a month-long event with savings on gluten-free products, samplings, cooking school classes and Web-based recipes and information from Dierbergs School of Cooking.

All of Dierbergs’ 23 metropolitan locations have designated gluten-free product sections in addition to a mix of items integrated throughout the store. Gluten-free shelf tags help customers easily identify products.

"My mother has lived with celiac disease for years, so I know how hard it’s been to find good-tasting foods that are also gluten-free,” said Ben Ablan, Dierbergs category manger overseeing the company’s healthful Whole Life products. “At Dierbergs, we are building this category at a very rapid rate. I see and hear firsthand how much customers appreciate having more choices that meet their very strict dietary guidelines. We’re committed; Dierbergs is in this for the long haul.”
