Dierbergs, Budweiser Aid Furry Friends
Stray Rescue of St. Louis has more than $24,000 to help Gateway City-area stray animals thanks to a fund-raising partnership between St. Louis-based Dierbergs Markets and hometown beer brand Budweiser.
The “Be a Bud” promotion, which ran through August, had two fund-raising components: Budweiser donated $1 to Stray Rescue for every Budweiser brand 30-pack sold at Dierbergs; and Dierbergs customers contributed to Stray Rescue with donations at checkout. One hundred percent of customer donations went directly to Stray Rescue.
The promotion raised $24,846 to be applied to completing Stray Rescue’s Companion Animal Center and to the Stracks Fund, which helps stray dogs and cats get emergency medical care.
Stray Rescue is a St. Louis non-profit organization that rescues stray animals and places them in loving adoptive homes. Stray Rescue abides by a no-kill philosophy and has rescued more than 1,000 strays in the first half of 2011.
