Diamond Foods Names S.V.P. of Sales
STOCKTON, Calif. -- Nut purveyor Diamond Foods, Inc. here has appointed Paul M. "Mike" Cooke as s.v.p. of North American retail sales. Cooke will be responsible for all Diamond branded retail sales, including Emerald snack products.
Cooke has 24 years of food industry sales experience, most recently serving as v.p. of sales for PepsiCo's western division. He worked for 20 years for the Quaker Oats Co. with increasing responsibilities and became part of the PepsiCo organization when it merged with Quaker Oats in 2001.
"Mike joins Diamond as an established leader in building branded consumer packaged goods sales," said Michael J. Mendes, president/c.e.o. of Diamond Foods. "We are very pleased to have him take the helm of our North American retail sales team."
Diamond of California and Emerald products are sold in more than 60,000 North American retail locations. In the second fiscal quarter of 2006, Diamond Foods' North American retail sales grew by 23 percent to $78.8 million, and sales of Emerald snack products increased 60 percent.
