DemandTec's TradePoint Hosts 1 Millionth Retailer/Supplier Trade Promo Deal

SAN CARLOS, Calif. - Consumer demand management solutions provider DemandTec, Inc. today hosted the one-millionth trade promotion deal between a retailer and manufacturer on its DemandTec TradePoint platform.

DemandTec developed the TradePoint platform to enable retailers to streamline business processes such as deal management and billing across their network of vendors and brokers by replacing manual activities with automated processing via the Internet. The benefits of the platform include greater internal efficiency, which translates to a lower cost-to-serve for their trading partners, according to DemandTec.

"The efficiencies made possible by DemandTec enable us to spend more time on higher-value merchandising activities," said Ron Domenick, s.v.p., non-perishables, Giant Carlisle, Landover, Md. "And because our vendor partners also benefit from this efficiency, DemandTec helps us achieve our goal of making it easier to do business with Giant."

Retailers using TradePoint to manage online trade promotions with their vendors account for over one-third of all supermarket grocery volume in the United States, said the vendor.

Consumer products suppliers and sales agencies also use the DemandTec TradePoint platform, with trade deals from more than 2,000 consumer products companies managed in the system.

Other DemandTec customers include Delhaize America, H-E-B Grocery Co., Monoprix, and Safeway, as well as more than 100 consumer products companies.
