Delhaize America to Deploy Sophisticated Payment Terminals at POS

Delhaize America is looking to enhance consumer engagement at the point of sale (POS) in its supermarkets by installing more sophisticated payment terminals. 

The retailer will deploy multi-media, EMV and NFC-capable MX 925 payment terminals from Verifone in more than 1,200 Food Lion and Hannaford stores across the Southeast, Mid-Atlantic and Northeast regions of the U.S.

Michael Laurenti, CIO for Delhaize America, said the goal is to “continue to offer improved functionality for our customers.”

The payment terminals feature digital color displays, high-speed graphic processors and large memory capacities that will enable Delhaize America to deliver targeted promotional content to shoppers at checkout.
