Del Monte Appoints Former Albertsons Vice Chairman to Board of Directors
SAN FRANCISCO -- Del Monte Foods Co. yesterday said it had named Victor L. Lund to its board of directors. Lund was vice chairman of Albertsons, Inc. from June 1999 until June 2002.
Additionally, he served as chairman and c.e.o. of American Stores Co. before it was acquired by Albertsons in June 1999. From 1992 to 1995 he was president of American Stores Co. Before coming to that company in 1977, Lund was a practicing certified public accountant. Most recently, from May 2002 to December 2004, he served as nonexecutive chairman of the voard of Mariner Health Care, Inc. a long-term health care services company. Lund also currently sits on the boards of Borders Group, Inc., NCR Corp., and Service Corporation International.

Lund's appointment, which filled a vacancy on the Del Monte Foods board, brings the number of directors to nine.
