There’s another reason to love cupcakes, thanks to the launch of a new “Create Your Own Cupcake” feature on Baked by Melissa’s website. The New York City bakery -- famous for its miniature stuffed cupcakes, is giving customers across the nation a chance to create and order the cupcake of their dreams by choosing from a wide array of cake, frosting, stuffing and topping colors and flavors – making the website almost as addictive and fun as the cupcakes themselves.

Want a hot pink cupcake with neon green frosting, stuffed with peanut butter and topped with a cherry? No problem. How about a pastel yellow cake, filled with delicate custard and topped with rainbow sprinkles? You got it. The Create Your Own Cupcake site is like a blank canvas for stuffed cupcake aficionados, for whom the only limit is the imagination (and the palate). Once created, customers can then name their cupcake and upload it to the site’s online gallery or on Facebook. Customers can then peruse the gallery and purchase their own design, or that of someone else.

Admitting that the launch of the new feature on her company’s website “has been a dream of mine for quite some time,” Melissa Bushell, founder of the eponymous bakery, says: “Customers are always giving us suggestions on new flavors that we should carry and this is our way of letting them get in on the fun. I can’t wait to see some of the crazy creations people come up with!”

Since opening its popular take-away window on a bustling Soho street corner in 2008, Baked by Melissa has opened a second location in Union Square in 2010 and launched its nationwide delivery program. The Create Your Own Cupcake site is a fun and delicious way for customers to create the cupcake of their dreams, as well as an affordable way to custom-make treats for celebrations such as holiday parties, birthdays, weddings, and more.

The Create Your Own Cupcake feature can be used for orders of 300 cupcakes or more. Baked by Melissa cupcakes are available online at www.bakedbymelissa.com or by calling 212-842-0220. For nationwide deliveries, the minimum order is 50 cupcakes and for customized orders there is a minimum of 500. All orders will ship overnight or second day air so that the cupcakes arrive to customers fresh and delicious.
