Cub Foods Gives $30K to Minneapolis Tornado Recovery

Cub Foods has donated $30,000 and a variety of supplies to the second phase of tornado recovery in North Minneapolis.

Working in cooperation with three North Minneapolis community faith-based organizations, Cub will provide 500 families with needed supplies, resources and moral support. The relief efforts since the May tornado have shifted into a secondary stage that is focused on getting people on the path to recovery.

This week, Cub presented $10,000 checks to the Church of the Ascension, Shiloh Temple International and Masjid An-Nur Mosque. These three organizations will acquire supplies and additional resources to provide help to families in the community.

Owned by Minneapolis-based Supervalu Inc., Cub Foods operates 69 stores in Minnesota, Wisconsin and Illinois, with 58 of those stores located in the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area.
