C&S Sets Donation Record

C&S Wholesale Grocers Inc. and its employees across the company raised $1.6 million during its 2014 United Way campaign, establishing a new record and boosting the distributor's contribution by 10 percent over the previous year. The workplace campaign, held in May, engaged almost 5,000 employees as donors, with all gifts matched dollar for dollar by C&S.

"The mission of the United Way resonates strongly with us," said Rick Cohen, chairman and CEO of Keene, N.H.-based C&S. "Helping others is part of our culture, and our teammates are inspired to give. Whether their contribution is $1 a week or $10 a week, I'm proud of the way our team is motivated to help others. We're building on a long-term relationship with the United Way to create opportunities for a better life for everyone."
