C&S Names Joseph Schena EVP, CFO

C&S Wholesale Grocers has named Joseph J. Schena its new EVP and CFO, effective Sept. 29.

In his new role, Schena will be responsible for all financial functions of the company, including accounting, treasury, financial planning and analysis, internal controls, quality assurance and inventory control.

Mark Verdi, president of C&S, noted that Schena's "experience and energy will bring an added dimension to our already strong team," adding that he will be an "instrumental leader in all areas of our company’s accelerating growth.”

Prior to joining C&S, Schena served as CFO of Bacardi Limited and president/CEO of Bacardi International Limited.  He was also a partner at private equity firm Centerview Capital, and held executive positions with The Gillette Company, Nabisco Holdings Corp. and Kraft Foods.

Keene, N.H.-based C&S Wholesale Grocers serves approximately 5,000 stores from more than 50 locations in 15 states.
