C&S Associates 'Make a Difference' Across the Country

KEENE, N.H. -- For the fifth year in a row C&S employees volunteered to help local nonprofit groups as part of "National Make a Difference Day" on Saturday, Oct. 27. The annual event involves more than 3 million volunteers from all over the United States.

"This year over 200 C&Sers were involved in Make a Difference Day activities, supporting many outstanding nonprofit organizations and in the process, helping neighbors in need," noted C&S chairman and c.e.o. Rick Cohen in a statement.

This year's projects, which mainly focused on food assistance organizations, included packing "blizzard boxes" at the Food Bank of Western New York; building shelves and painting walls in the Keene Community Kitchen's Emergency Preparedness Room in New Hampshire; landscaping at Harvest Hope's food bank warehouse in Greenville, S.C.; making children's snack packs for the Food Bank of Delaware; and sorting and preparing donated food and clothing at the Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services in California.

The seventh-largest privately held company in the United States, according to Forbes magazine, C&S provides distribution services to grocery chains and independent stores, delivering to almost 5,000 locations from its distribution centers in Alabama, California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Massachusetts, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, and Vermont.
