Cryovac to Host Shrink Workshop at Meat Conference

DUNCAN, S.C. -- A detailed economic analysis of store-prepared meats identifying "real world" cost and shrink of in-store, backroom meat production will be among the educational highlights of the upcoming Annual Meat Conference in Orlando, thanks to the support of Sealed Air Corp.'s Cryovac Division.

The detailed analysis and workshop - which will be presented by Keith Bauman, national coordinator of Sealed Air Corp./Cryovac division's retail task force -- will highlight financial implications of store prepared meats, and potential cost savings methods within the meat department including labor, yield, and packaging costs.

The 2007 Annual Meat Conference will take place Feb. 18 to Feb. 20 at the Caribe Royale Orlando All-Suites Resort and Convention Center in Orlando, Fla.

In other news, Cryovac Food Packaging was named a gold supplier of packaging materials for the fourth consecutive year by readers of Food Processing magazine.

Cryovac Food Packaging also was selected as a bronze-level supplier of packaging equipment, its first time placing in this category.

"The greatest compliment is being named by food processors, our customers, as the best provider of packaging materials and one of the best for packaging equipment," said Karl Deily, president, Cryovac Food Packaging.
