Creditors Oppose Winn-Dixie's Bankruptcy Extension
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The unsecured creditors committee of Winn-Dixie Stores here filed an objection with the U.S. Middle District of Florida's bankruptcy court on Monday, stating that they would rather see a 30-day extension of Winn-Dixie's bankruptcy reorganization filing as opposed to the 90-day extension the grocer recently requested.
Winn-Dixie's deadline to file a reorganization plan with the court is Dec. 19, while the deadline for approval by the court and interested parties is Feb. 20, 2006.
Winn-Dixie is seeking a 90-day extension, which pushes its deadline to March 20, 2006, with an approval deadline of May 22, 2006.
