Couple Swaps ‘I Do’s’ at Stew’s
When a couple identified only as Mark and Rosanne sought permission to have their engagement photos taken at their favorite grocery store, Stew Leonard’s flagship location in Norwalk, Conn., the grocer surprised the happy pair by throwing a mock wedding for them at the venue.
Escorted down the grocery aisle by Stew Leonard’s mascot Clover the Cow to the strains of “Here Comes the Bride” picked out on the electric guitar, Rosanne joined Mark, decked out in a bowtie in Stew’s signature colors, for the recitation of vows to “love, honor and cherish, and shop for our farm-fresh foods here at Stew Leonard’s forever and ever, all the days of our lives.”
Additionally, company founder Stew Leonard Sr., happily married to Marianne for 58 years, offered some sage advice for the young nearly-weds: “Whatever you do, never go to bed mad.”
