Corporate Responsibility: Frederick Wildman Helps ‘Turn the Towns Teal’
Wildman’s Trapiche, a top wine brand in Argentina, and Folonari, the famed household Pinot Grigio brand, will turn the state of New Jersey Teal in September, which has been designated National Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month. During that time, Wildman will sponsor wine promotions across the Garden State in support of the campaign.
Awareness of often vague ovarian cancer symptoms is crucial, since if the disease caught at an early stage, the survival rate is 90 percent to 95 percent.
For every bottle of Trapiche and/or Folonari sold in New Jersey, a donation of 50 cents will be made to the Turn The Towns Teal Inc., a 4-year-old 501(3) organization, up to $10,000 per brand. Neckers on every bottle of Trapiche and Folonari will bear precise information on symptoms of ovarian cancer, while teal ribbons will adorn Trapiche and Folonari wine cartons at local retailers.
“Thanks to the support of our retail and distributor partners in New Jersey, the ‘Turn the Towns Teal’ campaign will continue saving lives with this essential awareness campaign,” said Richard Cacciato, president and CEO of Frederick Wildman and Sons, Ltd., a New York-based importer of fine wines and spirits since 1934, “and we are hopeful that with its success, we will take the campaign to a national level in the very, very near future.”
New Jersey towns taking part in the promotion include Hackensack and Ridgewood Bergen County, Columbus/Mansfield in Burlington County, Millburn and North Caldwell in Essex County, Flemington in Hunterdon County, Lawrenceville and Trenton in Mercer County, Metuchen and Woodbridge in Middlesex County, Florham Park and Morris Plains in Morris County, Toms River in Ocean County, Clifton and Pompton Lakes in Passaic County, Somerset and Watchung in Somerset County, Hopatcong in Sussex County, Summit in Union County, and Hackettstown in Warren County.
