Copper River Salmon Casts First-Ever ‘Salmon Locator’ on Facebook
Long known for its great timing, from the first King salmon of late spring to the Sockeye of summer to the last fall Coho – all of it wild and sustainable from Alaska – Copper River Salmon has logged another first with the launch of the first-ever Salmon Locator Facebook app.
The Copper River Salmon Locator directs fans to retailers and restaurants that carry Copper River King, Sockeye and Coho salmon during their respective seasons—starting with King salmon (in May-June), and continuing with Sockeye (May-July) and Coho (August-September).
By logging on to www.findcopperriver.org, shoppers can FIND IT by simply inputting their location (city, address or zip code) or TAG IT if they want to share the name and address of a grocery store or restaurant that carries Copper River salmon with other salmon lovers. In addition to helping shoppers find their way to Copper River salmon, the app will also help the region’s fishermen connect with where their product is being sold. Additionally, a group of food bloggers in 15 key markets will be helping to FIND and TAG Copper River Salmon in their cities.
The Copper River Salmon Locator is being officially launched just prior to the International Boston Seafood Show, which is taking place at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center March 11-13, 2012 at booth #1655. The trade launch will be followed by a consumer launch announcing the start of the 2012 season.
Retailers carrying Copper River Salmon this season can take advantage of this free promotion by adding their locations to the app atwww.findcopperriver.org or can contact Jessyka at [email protected] directly to be included in the app.
