Community Markets Starts a ‘Food Fight’ Against Hunger
Community Markets stores in Ohio and Indiana this week teamed up with West Ohio Food Banks to launch a new charitable program to fight hunger in the more than 30 markets its parent company, Fresh Encounter, Inc., serve.
“During summer months, food banks can experience some of their greatest demand, due to children being home and not in school,” said Fresh Encounter president and CMO Eric Anderson. “Fresh Encounter is doing its part to help those in need.”
For the program, called “Food Fight,” each store will have Food Fight bags full of Our Family Brand nonperishable food items that can be purchased for $5 and then donated to local food pantries. Fresh Encounter will provide customers making donations with a $5-off bounce-back coupon for their next purchase!
Findlay, Ohio-based Fresh Encounter, Inc. operates 31 stores throughout Ohio and eastern Indiana under a variety of banners, including Sack ’N Save, Community Markets, Fulmer Community Markets and Great Scot Community Markets.
