Coca-Cola Names New North America President
ATLANTA -- The Coca-Cola Company here said yesterday it has named J. Alexander "Sandy" Douglas president of Coca-Cola North America to replace Donald Knauss, who is leaving the company, reportedly to take the c.e.o. job at Clorox.
Douglas was most recently s.v.p. and chief customer officer for Coke. He joined Coca-Cola in 1988 as a sales manager in the U.S. soda fountain division.
Knauss, who joined Coca-Cola in 1994, led the North America division for two and a half years.
Coca-Cola said Knauss has accepted a role as chairman and c.e.o. at a major company outside the Coca-Cola system, but did not identify the company. New reports last night named Clorox as Knauss' destination.
