Coca-Cola Company Subscribes to Global UCCnet Services

LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. - UCCnet announced on Thursday that The Coca-Cola Company and bottler Coca-Cola Enterprises Inc. have signed a global agreement to use UCCnet's item registry and data synchronization services. The agreement enables the Coca-Cola system to standardize product information for its entire product line on UCCnet's GLOBALregistry and synchronize item data with worldwide retail partners.

The subscription encompasses Coca-Cola's entire line of nearly 300 brands distributed across almost 200 countries.

Coke will begin implementing UCCnet's standards-based services in 2003, using internal IT resources to complete integration beginning with North American retailers and progressing globally as UCCnet continues to build its community of retailers.

"Our work in the development and adoption of industry standards is a necessary foundation to improved collaboration and a more efficient supply chain with our partners worldwide," said Jean-Michel Ares, VP and chief information officer at Coca-Cola.

"Coca-Cola Enterprises believes that UCCnet will continue to streamline our supply chain with retailers and simplify local item authorization and new product introduction to allow quicker speed to shelf," said Dan Marr, senior VP, chief customer officer at CCE.

Data synchronization within a DSD business model offers a variety of important supply chain efficiencies, including simplified local item authorization, fewer invoice deductions, and reduced time checking products at the retailer's back door, said Lawrenceville, N.J.-based UCCnet.
