CobornsDelivers launches iPhone and Android mobile Apps
CobornsDelivers has launched new mobile apps for CobornsDelivers.com, the online grocery ordering and home delivery service based in New Hope, Minn., and owned by regional independent Coborn’s Inc.
The new mobile shopping program is compatible with iPhone and Android smart phones and now allows shoppers the convenience of shopping while on the go. Once shoppers set up a new account, they can use the app to review weekly specials, refer to their order history, shop from customized lists and take advantage of special mobile offers. Coborns' worked with Mica Limited to develop its new iPhone app and Mother Robot to develop the Android app.
“With so many cell phone users now using iPhone and Android smart phones, these mobile apps reinforce our commitment to creating a quick and easy online grocery shopping experience,” said Chris Coborn, president and CEO of Coborn’s. “They help give customers time back into their day so they can focus on what matters most to them.”
The CobornsDelivers mobile apps give shoppers access to all the tools already available through the CobornsDelivers Web site, including built-in search capabilities; department and brand filtering; the ability to order items manually as well as shop from weekly specials; microsites including a large assortment of infant care items, gluten-free selection and even beer, wine, and spirits. Shoppers can shop from custom lists they create and from a "favorites" list they can create as they shop. The mobile apps interface directly with the company's inventory and customer database so any shopping activity on the Web site or on the mobile apps is reflected in the customer's shopping cart in real time.
“It takes the average CobornsDelivers customer approximately 15 minutes to place an online grocery order,” said Dennis Host, manager of e-commerce marketing at Coborn’s. “With our new mobile apps, we’re taking the convenience factor of online grocery shopping to a whole new level. Now, customers don’t even have to be on a computer to place an order. They can place an order via their iPhone or Android smart phone during half-time at a soccer game or while they’re waiting for an appointment. We’re taking grocery shopping beyond easy and convenient. We’re making it fun.”
The CobornsDelivers apps are now available on the iTunes AppStore and the Android Marketplace.
St. Cloud, Minn.-based Coborn’s, Inc., owns and operates 39 Coborn’s and Cash Wise Foods grocery stores, and three Save-A-Lot franchise stores in the upper Midwest, along with convenience, liquor and video stores, and pharmacies.
