Clarification: News America Marketing Deal with A&P Not Exclusive

NEW YORK -- On Dec. 13, Progressive Grocer's online news ran a story based on a press release that claimed the Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Co. (A&P) had signed an exclusive, multiyear marketing agreement with News America Corp. A&P has since informed Progress Grocer that News America Corp. was contracted to perform certain services, which neither replaced nor interfered with the retailer's ongoing business with Insignia Systems, Inc. Insignia Systems markets, sells, and supports in-store advertising and promotional products, programs, and services to retailers and CPG companies.
