Circle K Stores to Install Consumer Demand Management Software

PHOENIX, Ariz. -- Circle K, a convenience store chain owned by Canadian retailer Alimentation Couche-Tard Inc., said it plans to license price and promotion optimization management software to optimize its store merchandising.

The retailer said it selected San Carlos, Calif.-based DemandTec's Price and Promotion software solutions.

Laval, Quebec-based Alimentation Couche-Tard Inc., which had $10.2 billion in sales for its 2006 fiscal year, operates 5,205 convenience stores, 3,244 of which include motor fuel dispensing, located in Canada and the United States. Circle K operates 2,100 stores across the United States.

Other DemandTec customers include Brookshire Grocery Co., Delhaize America, Giant-Carlisle, Giant Eagle, H-E-B Grocery Co., Piggly Wiggly Carolina Co., and Safeway.
