GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Craig Sturken, chairman, president and c.e.o. of supermarket chain Spartan Stores Inc. here, sold 50,682 shares of common stock in his company, according to a Securities and Exchange Commission filing Tuesday.
In a Form 4 filed with the SEC, Craig Sturken reported selling the shares Friday, Monday and Tuesday for $20.42 to $21.05 apiece.
Insiders file Form 4s with the SEC to report transactions in their companies' shares. Open market purchases and sales must be reported within two business days of the transaction.
With warehouse facilities in Grand Rapids and Plymouth, Mich., Spartan Stores supplies more than 350 independent grocery stores in Michigan, Indiana, and Ohio and also owns and operates 68 supermarkets in Michigan and Ohio, including D&W Fresh Markets, Family Fare.
