Casey’s Adopts Software to Streamline Supply Chain

ANKENY, Iowa -- Casey's General Stores Inc. is implementing Softeon Inc.'s Warehouse Management System (WMS), Load Planning, Yard Management and Labor Management software in an effort to improve the efficiency and accuracy of its operations.

"The Softeon WMS solution will streamline the entire supply chain from receipt of product at the distribution center through delivery to the stores," said Bill Walljasper, senior vice president and chief financial officer at Casey's. "Increasing visibility into real-time inventory will allow us to better plan picking of store orders from a range of food, beverages, tobacco, products, health and beauty aids, automotive products and other non-food items."

The technology suite will also automate processes to improve truck load planning for weekly store replenishments, which are currently in excess of 350 stores on an average of 47 routes per day, Walljasper added.

Reston, Va.-based Softeon Inc. is a global provider of supply chain solutions from planning through execution. The company is honored to be selected by Casey's, said Gana Govind, president of Softeon. "Casey's has a laser focus on both customer service and distribution cost management, and Softeon is pleased to provide supply chain software tools that will support them in this journey," Govind said.

Ankeny, Iowa-based Casey's General Stores Inc. operates more than 1,780 convenience stores in 14 Midwest states.
